Mirco Marri Memorial

An antifascist, resident of Sant’Antonio in Mercadello, farmer and then a cart driver, ever since he was very young he could not stand the injustice and oppression by big farmers and soon became a reference point in the area for smaller farmers’ social struggles. He was killed on 26/04/1922 (the March on Rome had not yet happened), at 25 years old, by several Fascists, probably ordered by big local landowners who could not tolerate the following that Marri was gaining. His killers have gone unpunished. This is one of the few memorials dedicated to the memory of an antifascist, erected in 1947 by the Rovereto National Liberation Committee.
