3. “The Secchia River” green route

Distance: 17,4 km
Time: 1:15 hours

This route stretches through the south-east part of Rovereto sulla Secchia towards San Martino Secchia and highlights the high banks that run along this section of the Secchia River, along with the surrounding countryside and floodplains. The river with its often wild banks and peaceful floodplains has become a real ecological corridor for wild animals over the years: foxes and roe deer that come down from the Apennines in search of new land to colonise. Unfortunately, invasive animals such as coypu also choose these banks to dig their burrows. You will come across important architectural sites, such as Palazzo delle Lame, along the way.
